Abstract
The study aimed to assess the benefits and costs associated with bring your own device (BYOD) policies in hospitals. A systematic literature review was conducted in various databases and was limited to English, peer-reviewed studies, and resources published from 2007 through 2012. Although hospitals are adopting mobile device policies rapidly, a lack of standardized technology implementation persists. An opportunity exists to influence users’ behavior surrounding device usage instead of controlling the device. Hospital librarians should seize the opportunity to become a collaborative partner in managing hospital mobile device usage.
