Abstract
Introduction: Advanced navigation systems incorporating augmented reality and critical structure proximity alerts hold considerable promise for guidance of skull base surgery. However, these approaches face the challenge of being able to provide reliable anatomical segmentation methods that can be efficiently integrated into the clinical workflow. This study evaluates various contouring software methods, imaging data, and technical devices available for the image-guided surgeon.
