Complication prevention in the treatment of tibial shaft fracture with self-locking inflation intramedullary nail

Abstract
Objective To study the use of self-locking inflation intramedullary nail and to reduce its complication.Methods 43 patients with tibial shaft fractures treated with self-locking inflation intramedullary nail were followed up.Results 43 cases were followed up for 3~18 months.There were 1 pulmonary embolism,1 nail breakage,1 failure inflation,2 postoperative infection,2 delayed unions and 1 articular movement impairment.Conclusions Self-locking inflation intramedullary nail is good for the treatment of tibial shaft fracture.The complications can be reduced obviously by analyzing the causes and preventive measures.
