Abstract
Objective To compare therapeutic effect of three different fixation methods in tibial and fibular fracture. Methods The 80 cases of tibial and fibular fracture received treatment of different methods were analyzed retrospectively. Among them, 25 cases were treated with external fixator,20 cases AO compressed steel plates and 35 cases intramedullary interlocking nail. Results In 80 cases, 75 cases of bone fracture healing(93.7%), bone deformities healing five cases(6.2%), nonunion four cases(5.0%), wound healing 6 cases(7.5%). Fixation in the treatment of 25 cases, the gifted 15 cases(60.0%),good in five cases(20.0%),poor five cases(20.0%),excellent rate of 80.0 percent,; angular plate for the treatment of 20 cases, gifted nine cases(45.0%), Good in five cases(25.0 percent),poor six cases(30.0%),excellent rate of 70.0%, with interlocking nail for the treatment of 35 cases, the gifted 20 cases (57.1%),good in 12 cases(34.3%),poor 3 cases (8.6%),good rate of 91.4%; three methods had significant difference(χ2=11.97,P0.05). Conclusion The interlocking nail can be widely used in closed fracture of the tibia and fibula and is superior to steel complex and the external fixator.
