Abstract
This study examines how organizations are using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and thus attempts to sensitize the research community regarding its usage and paving the path for future research. We studied 20 organizations of diverse sizes that have implemented AI. We found that most of them exploit their Image Processing and Natural Language Processing capabilities to automate their processes and decision-making. The lack of data or poor data quality was the primary challenge that organizations face in AI implementation. This is further exacerbated by the privacy laws concerning data as well as regulatory bottlenecks. It is interesting to note that areas that are fraught with legal implications of AI (such as its learning feature) found poorer implementation. We also found that organizations used the partnership model, federated learning model involving edge computing, and leveraging customer data. This study thus informs research of the current state of AI implementation in organizations.
