Abstract
COVID-19 affected almost all parts of the world and it resulted in artificial intelligence (AI) showing its impact in various sectors. AI is used in many aspects of healthcare, from a faster diagnosis or detection of COVID-19 to preparing a vaccine for COVID-19 in a shorter time, and it has revolutionized the healthcare sector. This chapter begins with a basic analysis of how chest CT/X-rays can be used for the diagnosis and detection of COVID-19. This chapter also discussed various models developed by different researchers for detecting COVID-19. This chapter explains how contactless healthcare services can be carried out and the novelty of the chapter lies in the model that is proposed to achieve this. Later sections of the chapter explain AI’s role in speeding up drug design and development. The integration of AI and blockchain to address the security and privacy issues are discussed. The chapter concludes with the future challenges and the ethical, legal, and societal issues or concerns regarding AI.
