Abstract
Applications of AI and machine learning have grown tremendously across many fields in medicine. However, they have had relatively slower adoption in the field of orthopaedic surgery. Yet there are several domains in which these technologies are beginning to gain traction, with significant future potential. Specifically, we review orthopaedic applications of AI in activity tracking and digital outcomes, risk and clinical outcome prediction, image processing and analysis, and health systems efficiency and optimization.
