<title>BACKGROUND</title> Background:In the healthcare industry, blockchain technology is being applied to the safe storage of medical data, electronic health records, and public health management. In recent years, there has been an increase in research on medical blockchain. This report presents a quantitative, qualitative, and visual analysis of the top 100 most referenced papers in the healthcare blockchain area from 2016 through 2022.
<title>OBJECTIVE</title> Objective: In order for blockchain technology to be more effectively applied to the medical field and to promote the growth of the healthcare field, it is necessary to study the evolution of medical blockchain technology and its cutting-edge hot trends.
<title>METHODS</title> Methods: The Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) was screened with the theme of blockchain and medicine on November 4, 2022. Between 2016 and 2022, 1213 research were discovered, and the 100 most-cited publications were reviewed. The following data was collected: author, title, abstract, institution, journal, document type, keywords, nation, references, etc., and R, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace were used for literature analysis and visualization.
<title>RESULTS</title> Results: In this study, a total of 1,312 papers were published between 2016 and 2022. China published the greatest number of articles (n=357, or 27.10%). THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY NIT SYSTEM IS THE FIRST INSTITUTION TO PUBLISH ARTICLES (n=30, 2.287%). IEEE ACCESS has the greatest number of articles published (n=122, or 9.299%) among all journals that publish articles. We organized the article's keywords into nine categories. Authentication, blockchain technology, machine learning, computer architecture, differential privacy, smart cities, medical data, electronic health records, and chameleon hashing are among them. IoT, Deep Learning, and Consensus Algorithm are some of the hottest research areas.
<title>CONCLUSIONS</title> Conclusion: We analyzed the current technical application of medical blockchain, recognized the future development trend of medical blockchain, and offered a summary of the future development trend of medical blockchain.
