Abstract
<title>UNSTRUCTURED</title> There is growing demand for data scientists with specialization in healthcare data, and in particular with experience of analyzing large-scale data to address clinical research questions. We describe an approach to training based on intensive, 2-week data challenges, where students work in small groups, each assigned a clinical collaborator who guides the analysis and interpretation of the data to address a particular question. We review the key elements and operational complexities of delivering healthcare data challenges in order to promote their use in other training programs.
