Abstract
This paper explores the capabilities, benefits, and role of ChatGPT in Vietnamese chemistry high schools. ChatGPT, a large language model developed by OpenAI, has gained attention for its potential applications in various fields, including education. In the context of chemistry education, ChatGPT shows promise as a tool for enhancing teaching and learning experiences. However, it is crucial to evaluate its capabilities and understand the benefits it can bring to the classroom. This paper reviews existing literature and studies on ChatGPT's performance in chemistry education, considering its strengths and limitations. Additionally, the paper discusses the potential benefits of integrating ChatGPT in chemistry classrooms, such as personalized learning support, promotion of critical thinking and inquiry, and assistance in conceptual explanation and understanding.
