Abstract

Electronic Health Record Systems are digital versions of our hand printed medical records having many benefits like improved quality, accurate clinical diagnosis, effective treatment and better recovery rate, automated documentation and enhanced productivity. Electronic Health Record Systems capabilities and innovativeness for using it can be improved by designing and integrating it with processes which have an impact in people’s life and features towards which people get attracted. Use of APIs to integrate various exciting and cool features for modern generation web-apps and using analytics to drive engagement are also discussed in the paper. The use of games to promote the use of EHR system and ways to enhance efficiency and workflow using it is also discussed. The use of fitness app APIs to collect data more efficiently is also discussed. The use of Big Data analytics and its various processes used for data extraction, filtering, etc., are mentioned. The use of wearable and vertical integration is also discussed where it helps in maintaining a healthier, greatly monitored and connected environment. There are many instances where games are the best ways to learn new things and the same could be utilized in order to train and give information regarding EHR systems. It also discusses the use of reports, dashboards of various types and analytics to perceive data in a whole different way visually and get a different level of feeling. AR/VR games and worlds are also something which could improve the UX of EHR systems. Additionally, the way one interacts with the EHR can be innovated by enhancing user interface and using gamified techniques to engage users towards doing what is right for them health wise and maintain their excitement levels alongside.
