Abstract
Abstract “Artificial intelligence” (AI) is a broad term that describes how computers mimic human activities. What is commonly associated with AI usually corresponds to so-called “machine learning.” Specialized algorithms, using a variety of sample data, generate mathematical models that generalize certain patterns to predict decisions without explicit programming. AI has revolutionized medical technology by dealing with complex problems and handling large amounts of data. The integration of AI into orthodontic routines has gained attention, with promising approaches for diagnostics, therapy planning, and treatment outcome prognosis. AI algorithms can assist experienced and inexperienced practitioners in terms of time-saving, decision-making, and enhanced quality management. Examining the scientific foundation of AI solutions is crucial for comprehending their limitations and potential consequences.
