Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a surge in healthcare fraud, including false billing, identity theft, counterfeiting, and falsified equipment. The pandemic's challenges, including overwhelmed infrastructure, supply shortages, and shift to telehealth services, have exacerbated vulnerabilities. Losses from healthcare fraud are estimated to be billions of dollars. Advances in technologies like AI, big data analytics, and blockchain can help counter these threats. Collaboration between healthcare entities, payers, and law enforcement is crucial to combat healthcare fraud.
