Abstract
HR analytics (HRA) has undoubtedly garnered significant attention from both practitioners and academics in recent years, leading to a rapid expansion of knowledge on the topic. Despite several literature reviews that have recently been published to summarize existing knowledge, they have faced criticism for their limited and biased scope. In response, this chapter offers a bibliometric study that addresses these criticisms by comprehensively identifying the literature on HRA and providing a multidisciplinary perspective on its research. A total of 554 publications spanning from 1970 to 2022 were analyzed. Our findings categorize the evolution of HRA research into four phases: Incubation, Initiation, Expansion, and Proliferation, each characterized by distinct research focuses and disciplinary compositions. The performance analysis identifies prominent authors, influential outlets, and top-cited publications. In contrast, keyword analysis reveals the diversity of HRA's application areas and analytical techniques as well as shifts over time. Therefore, this chapter equips newcomers and experienced researchers with a detailed perspective on this rapidly evolving field and proposes recommendations for future research.
