AI and the Ethical Crossroads

Abstract

This chapter explores the difficult moral issues that artificial intelligence (AI) is bringing about as it changes society. It examines the points where AIs expanding influence raises new ethical and legal conundrums: privacy autonomy and personhood. As the chapter looks at how AI systems gather and use personal data it raises questions regarding data ownership and control and changes privacy standards.
