Abstract
This chapter explores the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions in the healthcare industry, emphasizing the critical role of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines in ensuring seamless updates, improvements, and scaling of AI models in real-time healthcare environments. This highlights how CI/CD frameworks enable efficient version control and the automation of model deployment, significantly reducing downtime and enhancing model iteration cycles for predictive healthcare models, clinical decision support systems, and other AI-driven tools. In addition, best practices for the monitoring, evaluation, and maintenance of deployed models are described to ensure that they continue to perform optimally, remain reliable, and meet evolving compliance standards. The significance of real-time monitoring for detecting model drift, bias, and performance degradation is discussed, along with strategies for mitigating these challenges. Furthermore, the chapter emphasizes the integration of AI within the software development life cycle (SDLC), focusing on the need for seamless collaboration between AI engineers, data scientists, and software developers. This interdisciplinary approach fosters the creation of scalable, maintainable, and adaptable AI systems capable of evolving with the dynamic demands of healthcare technologies. By aligning AI development with traditional software engineering practices, healthcare organizations can achieve greater agility, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver innovative, sustainable solutions to the healthcare sector.
