Abstract
The rapid expansion of Artificial Intelligence (AI), in synergy with emerging Blockchain technologies, necessitates a departure from conventional, centralized architectures to more decentralized paradigms for privacy and security in oncology care. This chapter introduces a conceptual and theoretical framework combining AI-driven analytics, decentralized identity management, and privacy-preserving machine learning to establish robust, patient-focused smart medical systems. It examines how AI can enhance clinical decision-making, data security, and operational efficacy while addressing the limitations of traditional data handling in healthcare. Integrating foundational principles of decentralized identity—such as secure authentication, self-sovereign data ownership, and transparent access control—with AI-enabled insights, this chapter proposes a roadmap for promoting adaptable, resilient, and trust-centered oncology care.
