Abstract
<title>Extract</title> Parents of children with asthma frequently turn to the internet for health information about their child's condition [1–3]. While traditional online searches through platforms like Google have been the primary method of accessing such information, the emergence of Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT represents a paradigm shift in how health information can be accessed [4]. These AI models, which now count tens of millions of users, can generate direct responses to specific questions. However, the quality of information they provide to parents of children with asthma remains unknown. Here, we evaluated the medical accuracy, appropriateness, comprehensibility, and reproducibility of responses provided by ten different LLMs to the most common questions asked by parents of children with asthma.
