Abstract
Metaverse has transformed several industries, including healthcare with the amalgamation of revolutionary new technologies like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Through this chapter, the impact of metaverse technologies is examined on healthcare, with a major focus on upcoming technologies with the growing level of applications related to security systems and the transformational potential. The metaverse creates environments that are immersive, interactive, and are well patient-focused; it virtually offers an incomparable prospect, which further improves patient care, and advanced medical education and also improves healthcare delivery. The chapter also explores the ethical corollary of upcoming technologies in healthcare systems, highlighting the major focus on patient permission, data privacy, and the digital divide. The chapter further emphasizes the crucial thorough legal frameworks and the moral principles and standards that further regulate virtual technology to protect patient safety and assist in maintaining their confidence within the swiftly changing digital healthcare environment.
