Pragmatism and Digital Technology: A Theoretical Framework for Contemporary Challenges

Abstract

Abstract The rapid development of digital technology, from artificial intelligence ( ai ), data systems to social networks, has opened up many opportunities but also posed great ethical, social and management challenges. This requires us to explore how pragmatism, a philosophy that focuses on practical consequences, adaptability, and learning from experience, can become an effective theoretical framework for dealing with these problems. By prioritizing practical outcomes over abstract ideals, pragmatism offers a flexible, iterative approach to addressing issues such as ai ethics, data privacy, and the impact of social media. Through conceptual analysis, this study aims to demonstrate that pragmatic principles can guide the design of solutions and policies suitable for the digital era. The results show that the focus on testing and problem-solving in the context of pragmatism is very compatible with the ever-changing nature of digital technology, including Vietnam.
