Abstract
This convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and healthcare gives rise to a new concept called “Smart Aging” that caters to the peculiar healthcare needs of the world's elderly population. This research therefore aims at revealing the possibilities created by AI and its impact on adult health status. When the population becomes older, there is a greater need for innovative approaches in serving such geriatric persons with suitable and efficient medical care. The overall objective of Smart Aging is to enhance the well-being of senior citizens generally. Thus, it covers psychological counseling like cognitive therapy, general medicine such as hospitalization, diagnosis including various tests and check-ups, telemedicine or remote healthcare solutions, wearable devices as well as fitness trackers, pain management techniques like drugs or alternative therapies among others like meditation or deep breathing exercises, and many other ways of treatment options as well as looking at some ethical issues involving this field. This chapter also goes into several other areas such as assisted living smart homes where technologies used are fall prevention systems and medication reminders through wearable devices; these considerations are vital for researchers, practitioners in health departments, and educationalists who would want to comprehend how AI modifies senior citizen care services today. Artificial intelligent Medicare cataloging can be an integral part of technology-driven healthcare for the aged people. For example, such technologies can enable elderly individuals to manage their medications safely. They help prevent issues such as overdosing or forgetting to take prescribed medications, which could otherwise lead to serious health consequences. Non-adherence to treatments has been linked to fatal outcomes in some cases, especially when multiple medications are prescribed, including painkillers that should not be mixed or must be taken with food. These challenges highlight the importance of medication management tools. Such tools can also address broader health risks, such as preventing flu outbreaks through timely vaccination, ultimately improving the well-being of the elderly. Also, AI-based medication schedules can help elderly patients avoid medication errors and improve their adherence to medications. Furthermore, wearable devices such as smart wearables and household appliances for the aged make it possible for them to remain self-sufficient while being in a safe place. The integration of AI into geriatric health holds great promise for improving health outcomes, enhancing quality of life and enhancing independent aging.
