Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the landscape of higher education, offering scalable, adaptive, and personalized tools that enrich the doctoral learning experience. This chapter examines how AI is reshaping doctoral education through enhanced student engagement, increased faculty effectiveness, and dynamic content interaction. Anchored in the Community of Inquiry framework, the chapter explores AI tools that support doctoral candidates with writing, research, and academic planning, while enabling faculty to deliver timely feedback and proactive support. Additionally, it highlights how adaptive and generative technologies personalize content engagement to elevate knowledge construction and scholarly inquiry. As AI becomes a strategic partner in doctoral education, ethical implementation and purposeful design are essential to ensuring its alignment with academic integrity, equity, and learner success.
