Abstract
<title>Abstract</title> The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in sports is rapidly transforming various aspects of athletics, from performance analysis to injury prevention, talent identification, and decision-making. This review paper systematically examines the current state of AI applications in sports, highlighting the key relevant advancements in machine learning, computer vision, and wearable technology. It explores how AI enhances athlete monitoring, optimizes training plans, and supports sport management through automated decision-making systems. In addition, the paper also addresses relevant ethical and legal considerations, such as data privacy, bias in algorithms, intellectual property rights, and responsibility for decisions based on AI. Through a critical analysis of recent literature, laws, and case studies, the review highlights gaps in existing regulation and recommends best practices for the responsible application of AI in sports. After analyzing the data collected from these studies, the review provides insights into the practical implications of AI adoption. The article concludes by underlining avenues of future research and the imperative for robust legal standards to guarantee that technological advancement is balanced with athlete welfare and sporting integrity.
