Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI), a transformative human innovation, is reshaping oncology by enhancing services and offering groundbreaking solutions. This paper assesses the contributions of AI in the diagnosis of cancer, highlighting its role in early detection, precision medicine, and personalized treatment planning. AI-enabled tools and algorithms enable the analysis of complex and vast medical data, beneficial in the identification and diagnosis of cancer at the earliest stages and improving survival rates. It supports personalized oncology care by providing treatments to individual patients based on genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors, depending on their situation, to help them in their cure. Regardless of its unlimited potential, the addition of Artificial Intelligence in oncology presents multiple challenges, including data security, false alarms, ignorance, ethical considerations, and the need for precise validation of AI models. Responsible implementation and continuous research are important to take full advantage of AI's capabilities in oncology while addressing associated risks.
