Abstract

The Generative AI system and its proper applications are capable enough to create unmatched revolutions in the field of academics (especially higher education). On one hand this platform can modify the learning through focusing on the critical aspects on the subject matter, language programmes but on the other side it may hamper the academic integrity. With the help of gift of OpenAI in the form of ChatGPT learners can develop their proficiency in languages by customizing the learning resources and opportunities; they can have related benefits like summarization of texts; answering the questions; response generation and recording to complex texts, situations and questions, however, it may pose a threat to academic integrity. The present paper aims to compare the benefits and challenges of using ChatGPT to academics and suggest the ways with the help of which the academic integrity especially in educational institutions (especially higher education) could be restored while using ChatGPT in an effective and efficient way.
