Abstract
This chapter discusses how chatbots have changed, where they are used and the ethical questions they raise, focusing on their roles in healthcare, education and helping customers. Earlier, they only responded through rules, but now, thanks to AI and natural language processing, chatbots can engage in complicated, talking-like discussions with people. According to the analysis, there is a clear increase in studies about big artificial intelligence models such as ChatGPT and their effect on mental health, education and public health. Yet, the presence of biased content, privacy risks, false information and emotional dependency in digital platforms calls for careful thought. At the end of the chapter, it is recommended that disciplines collaborate to face these issues and that a balance of good design and regulations is important. As chatbots are designed for the future, enhancing transparency, improving user trust and following ethical guidelines are all important.
