Abstract
Generative Artificial Intelligence has an influential impact on the world. It has changed the way we did certain things. It doesn’t sit right with many to compare the competitive, cunning and brutal realm of law with the new age technology of Artificial Intelligence, they seem miles apart in terms of their nature and very foundations. But what is synonymous throughout in these two fields, is the aim to do progress by the second and have a meaningful contribution in the world. Lawyers spend much of their day jostling through files that may or may not contain data relevant to their work, or maybe they need to fetch some document from an online resource and, compare it with another document, summarize or even analyse some legal data. These legal professionals have a lot on their plate and the last thing they want is to be stuck in the middle of a vortex meagre tasks that hinder their progress towards the more important tasks of the day. Hence, to counter this issue we have tried to review the work done in the field of AI Legal Assistants, an AI assistant which shall be equipped with an arsenal of skills that enable it to tackle any previously mentioned task sent its way using the concepts of RAG and LLM. The amalgamation of Law and Gen AI might come off as a juxtaposition of opposite poles, but it truly is the pair that shall lead the future of both Law and Generative AI with its beguiling impact on the world.
