Abstract
Software engineering has moved to largescale development and maintenance of integrated, interactive, complex, and intelligent software systems. Artificial Intelligence (AI) advancement in the last decade requires its inclusion in the Software Engineering (SE) curriculum for future software engineers. Many new software and AI tools are built intertwined that knowledge of AI is imperative for software engineers. This paper identifies AI related skill sets required for software professionals. Further, it has been discussed how software developers can benefit from AI techniques in various software development phases and activities. This will facilitate the inclusion of AI in the SE curriculum at various levels, which will lead to higher employability of software engineers in the industry and other sectors. The future SE professionals will be well-trained to handle upcoming novel software, tools, and frameworks with AI components. This paper identifies the related skill set required for software professionals. Further, it has been discussed how software developers can benefit from AI techniques in various software development phases and activities.
