Abstract

Having taken the center stage with its digital engagement, companies are using AI to make the systems gamified to be more flexible, personalized, and efficient. AI can also personalize the dynamic game mechanics according to the individual user behaviour in contrast to the traditional static reward program. AI complements gamification with real-time decision making, behaviour prediction and ongoing optimisation. AI systems can use data-driven intelligence to recognize what motivates individual consumers to create more personalized experiences that encourage them to build long-term brand loyalty. This chapter examines the psychological drivers: achievement, competition and social validation and how AI can use these drivers to develop habit forming experiences. Ethical concerns in regard to data privacy and possible manipulation are also touched upon in the chapter, promoting responsible adoption of AI into lives with user consent and reasonable conditions. The AI has revolutionized gamified systems, and they have become strategically important in interaction with customers.
