Abstract
The application of artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping healthcare, especially in the areas of diagnosing and treating infectious diseases. This chapter delves into the ways AI technologies are improving the detection, management, and treatment of these diseases. It explores AI's contributions to medical imaging, genetic analysis, and predictive models, which facilitate more accurate diagnoses and enhance patient care. Additionally, the chapter discusses how AI can personalize therapeutic approaches, accelerate drug development, and forecast disease outbreaks. While AI holds significant promise, challenges such as data privacy issues, biases in algorithms, and the need for effective regulatory frameworks are also addressed. In conclusion, this chapter underscores the expanding role of AI in the management of infectious diseases and provides insight into its potential to transform global health practices in the future.
