Using AI to fight the care crisis : a usability study

Abstract
Nursing professionals often struggle with administrative burdens, reducing time for patient care. To address this, the startup Adamcares developed an AI assistant that streamlines documentation through voice dictation. Tested in collaboration with ZHAW and a home nursing provider, the AI assistant showed promise by reducing documentation time, despite usability and technical issues. Results show that participants adapted their language to interact with the AI. The study provided optimization suggestions for Adamcares and highlighted the need for further testing with other providers to refine the tool and enhance its integration into real-world nursing practices.
