Abstract

Real-time language translation and interpretation have been transformed by the quick development of artificial intelligence (AI), which has created previously unheard-of possibilities for smooth cross-cultural communication. Modern translation systems can now analyse and analyse spoken or written language with amazing speed and accuracy thanks to the use of potent AI models, such as machine learning and neural networks. In contrast to conventional techniques, these systems enable more nuanced and contextually relevant translations by using Natural Language Processing (NLP) to comprehend context, syntax, and semantics. Real-time translation systems are being incorporated more and more into industries including international business, education, healthcare, and travel. Examples of these techniques include wearable technology, AI-powered mobile apps, and speech recognition software. Additionally, even for low-resource languages, advances in multilingual modelling and DL have greatly enhanced translation quality. Despite significant progress, there are still issues to be resolved, such as managing colloquial language, cultural quirks, and protecting privacy and data security. This study examines the state of AI-driven translation and interpretation today, emphasising important tools, uses, and potential paths forward. It highlights the possibility of AI to remove language barriers and promote global connectedness in real-time communication contexts by analysing the strengths and weaknesses of these tools.
