Abstract
Healthcare organizations struggle with the need to successfully recruit new employees and make them comply with the policy requirements. Classroom training, videos, or simulations used in traditional training methods are rarely applicable in engaging the learner, being one-on-one, or avoiding expensive mistakes that compromise patient wellbeing and place learning at legal risks. The Adaptive Live Multimodal XR Onboarding and Compliance Ecosystem (ALM-XROCE) fills such gaps with a combination of extended reality (VR, AR, MR) and real-time AI and live instructions delivered by a professional. Its learning engine is also adaptive and personalizes the learning process by tracking behaviors and biometrics, modifying the complexity of the sessions, and addressing knowledge gaps in near real-time. The system also provides support of remote instructors in the form of avatars or holograms, compliance checkpoints and collaborative training. Pilot tests demonstrate that ALM-XROCE outperforms traditional approaches in terms of engagement and knowledge retention of the learner and adherence to compliance criteria, and analytics facilitates the optimization of content and certification administration, which is a scalable, immersive solution that can improve training outcomes and patient safety.
