Abstract
In recent years, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare has shown significant promise in enhancing medical support and accessibility. This paper presents MediBot, a medical emergency chatbot application developed using prompt engineering techniques with the Gemini 1.5 Pro language model. MediBot is designed to provide preliminary medical assistance, triage support, and information dissemination during emergencies, especially when professional help is not immediately available. Leveraging large language model (LLM) capabilities, the system is capable of understanding user symptoms, providing potential condition insights, and suggesting immediate actions while maintaining context-aware, human-like interactions. The chatbot also assists in connecting users to relevant healthcare resources and emergency contacts when necessary. This work outlines the architecture, prompt engineering strategy, implementation, and evaluation of MediBot, and discusses its potential role in augmenting emergency healthcare systems. Experimental results and user feedback demonstrate its effectiveness, usability, and scope for future improvements in real-world deployment scenarios.
