Abstract
This academic preprint explores the critical landscape of Addressing the Digital Divide: Socioeconomic Barriers to AI Literacy and Educational Equity. In the context of Technology & AI, we analyze the historical evolution, principal pedagogical models, and empirical evidence surrounding this topic. Our review of literature from 2020-2025 highlights the tension between established practices and emerging innovations. The results suggest that while significant progress has been made, several methodological and ethical challenges remain. We propose a new framework for Addressing the Digital Divide: Socioeconomic Barriers to AI Literacy and Educational Equity that prioritizes evidence-based practice and student agency.
