Enhancing Academic Support with AI: A Case Study of Chatbot Integration Using Microsoft Copilot Studio at Jazan University

Abstract
Higher education is rapidly changing with the help of real-time academic support from artificial intelligence (AI). In this research, Jizan University uses Microsoft Copilot Studio to design and implement an intelligent chatbot. The designed system is serving both the university website and Blackboard LMS. The AI-powered chatbot automates responses to support students' engagement and frequently asked questions, reducing the administration's workload. The Formative Research involved 90 participants, including faculty and students, who reported that the chatbot considerably lessens the response time as compared to the personalized support. Satisfaction rate is over 70 %, and response time is less than three seconds. The designed system uncovered areas for enhancement in managing complex or multilingual and academic inquiries. The chatbot's user-friendly no-code framework, transparent integration, and event-based logic employing Microsoft Power Automate highlights its scalability and Versatility. This research highlights the role of AI agents in authenticating Web-Based Service Delivery in Saudi Arabia's institutions by using Copilot Studio as an accessible development platform.
