Abstract
Background: Cutaneous melanoma is a heterogeneous malignancy causing most skin cancer deaths. Conventional staging systems rely on static diagnostic features from the time of diagnosis, and provide limited guidance during follow-up. We sought to develop and validate dynamic, interpretable AI-based models capable of updating survival predictions for relapse-free survival (RFS), melanoma-specific survival (SS), and overall survival (OS) as new clinical events arise.
