Experience d’un Systeme d'Archivage et de Communication d'Images (PACS) dans un dans un pays a faible revenu: evaluation de son succes aupres des utilisateurs (radiologues, techniciens et cliniciens)

Abstract

Introduction: Le PACS est l’une des innovations les plus importantes en radiologie. Avec la numerisation, son utilisation se progressivement dans les pays faible revenus apres les developpes.Objectif: Etudier l’impact de l’informatisation dans la gestion du parcours des patients, a partir de l’evaluation du succes du PACS aupres des utilisateurs.Methode: Enquete d’opinion prospective et transversale menee sur une periode de trois mois aupres des utilisateurs radiologues, techniciens et cliniciens travaillant au CHU Blaise Compaore depuis au moins 6 mois.Resultats: Le taux de reponse etait de 80,3% (61/76). Les repondants etaient composes de 04 radiologues (6,6%), 09 techniciens (14,8%) et 48 cliniciens (78,7%). Il s’agissait dans 70,5% d’hommes. L’âge des repondants allait de 20 a 60 ans, avec un maximum dans la tranche 41-50 ans avec 49,2%. 95,1% des repondants avait une familiarite moyenne avec l’outil informatique, mais seulement 19% avait une deja utilise le systeme PACS. Globalement, la perception du niveau de la qualite du systeme PACS etait satisfaisante, l’opinion sur la qualite des informations fournies par le PACS et des services positive. Les radiologues et les techniciens estimaient avoir ameliore leur productivite et gagne du temps dans la realisation des differentes modalites d’imagerie. Tous les utilisateurs nourrissent l’intention de poursuivre avec le PACS.Conclusion: Le PACS a eu un impact positif car tous les utilisateurs etaient satisfaits de cet outil de travail. With digitization, its use is gradually taking place in low-income countries.Objective: To study the impact of computerization in the management of patients' journey in the Blaise Compaore Teaching Hospital in Ouagadougou based on the evaluation of the success of PACS among users.Method: Prospective and cross-sectional opinion survey conducted over a period of three months beside users (radiologists, radiographers and clinicians) working at CHU BC for at least 6 months.Results: The response rate was 80.3% (61/76). Respondents were composed of 04 radiologists (6.6%), 09 radiographers (14.8%) and 48 clinicians (78.7%). 70.5% were men. The age of the respondents ranged from 20 to 60 years, with a maximum in the 41-50 age group (49.2%). 95.1% of the respondents had an average familiarity with the computer tool, but only 19% had an experience in using PACS system. Overall, the perception of the quality level of the PACS system was satisfactory, opinion on the quality of information provided by the PACS and positive services. Radiologists and radiographers felt that they had improved their productivity and had gained time in the realization of the various imaging modalities. All users intend to continue with PACS.Conclusion: The PACS had a positive impact as all users were satisfied with this new tool.
