SummaryResults of a survey of the NEJM Catalyst Insights Council — who comprise health care executives, clinical leaders, and clinicians — about artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) in health care show that the use of AI/ML applications is expected to rise sharply. Those whose organizations use AI/ML say it has improved patient health, and a strong majority of respondents say clinician performance is more effective when augmented by AI/ML. But expert commentators warn to view AI/ML promises under a caution light.
