Abstract
Attempts to quantify the 'Depth of Anesthesia' from EEG have only met with limited success because metric of anesthesia is not uniquely defined. Similarly, many parameters from the EEG have been examined such as Median Frequency, Spectral Edge Frequency, and Power Bands, and none has been found to have universal acceptability. Confounding the application of EEG is the fact that EEG is time varying and differs from region to region in the brain.
