Abstract
Natural language processing (NLP), a branch of artificial intelligence, has an essential role in intelligence-based medicine to improve health outcomes. There is an urgent need to develop a new and expandable AI infrastructure to enable healthcare providers to have access to new knowledge for individual patients for better decision-making and outcomes. This chapter introduces publicly available state-of-the-art NLP platforms applied to healthcare with case examples, challenges, promises, and limitations.
