What knowledge does ChatGPT have regarding open science, and can it provide good advice about it?

Abstract
The open science movement is gaining traction, but is not without its share of resistance and challenges, both human and structural. In this paper, we set out to discover if recently hyped AI software, ChatGPT, was able to provide an appreciation of open science and relevant literature, while offering suitable advice to overcome some of its current challenges. While ChatGPT provided well-versed advice and suggestions, even providing pertinent literature when prompted, a few issues reduced the reliability of its answers and thus its usefulness as a scientific educational tool: 1) some important themes related to open science were not covered; 2) a bias towards psychological research was observed; 3) ChatGPT created a few fictitious bibliographic sources.
