Abstract
2] The journal also responds to new initiatives from major funders of public research, e.g. by offering authors the option to publish open access. These items have been addressed at length in a recent special article about the journal's quality standards. 10he EHJ subscribes to the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) for the conduct, reporting, editing, and publication of scholarly work in biomedical journals. 5][6][7][8][9][10] The ICMJE continuously updates its recommendations to reflect changes in the research community. In May 2023, ICMJE announced some important updates to its recommendations, and there was a particular focus on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic publishing. 5
