Abstract
In essence, bioinformatics takes portions of data and interdisciplinary topics from biology, medicine, maths/physics, and computer science to be able to construct meaningful outcomes as a reflection of the data. While AI has been vastly implemented in certain specialities such as surgery and internal medicine, some soft practices like psychiatry and mental health care have had more challenges in being adopted. However, while AI is slowly integrating into mental health care, ethical issues must be taken into considerations to show improvement in the effectiveness and safety of this slow integration. AI integration in medicine poses many ethical issues, such as the ability for a machine to establish a proper doctor–patient relationship and make judgements based on empathetic understanding for the patient. Mental health care is a particular field in the medical world where extra attention needs to be given by the physician to the patient due to the nature of the patients that are being seen.
