Abstract

Trustworthy AI (TAI) presents a comprehensive framework that emphasizes critical attributes for AI systems. This framework includes accountability, social and environmental well-being, diversity, non-discrimination, fairness, transparency, privacy and data governance, technical robustness and safety, and human agency and oversight [2]. Moreover, organizational trust is intertwined with trustworthiness, trust and outcomes of any AI system [3]. Within healthcare, AI finds application in diverse functions, including diagnostics, management, and training [1]. For instance, consider Infection Tracking System, utilizing the Access Risk Knowledge (ARK Platform) and applying machine learning and analytic, provides a real-world example in healthcare. However, when organizational trust in these AI systems is lacking, it can give rise to various challenges [1]. This system is the primary focus of our study due to its practical relevance. The core objective of this study is to establish a framework for comprehending the establishment and quantification of organizational trust in the utilization of AI systems within a healthcare context. The approach of employing the CUBE socio-technical system analysis (STSA), will be applied to understand organizational trust in AI systems in the St. James Hospital of Ireland. To gather data, questionnaires and interviews will be applied. Analyzing this System enables understanding of organizational trust, how the system affects staff output along with ways to improve organizational trust. Expected Impact: This study is expected to develop methods and metrics that will be used to measure organizational trust in a hospital.
