Abstract
The chapter highlights developments in the healthcare industry, opportunities and challenges behind the role of various stakeholders in establishing a well pronged healthcare infrastructure, role of technology in shaping digital healthcare systems, and the shift in digital healthcare innovation from a clinician-centric to a patient-centric approach. The chapter also emphasized measures and strategies to avoid digital inequality, which may happen due to varied external and internal geographic, political, socio economic, technological, and regulatory reasons. Another important aspect that needs attention whenever innovations in digital healthcare is discussed is advancement in digital research. How digitalization in healthcare is transforming prevention to management of health conditions is shown, and the role of digital therapeutics (DTx) is also discussed.
