Abstract
Introduction Flap perfusion monitoring is critical in reconstructive surgery to detect ischemic issues early, impacting surgical outcomes and patient well-being. Current methods, relying on subjective clinical judgment, may lead to misinterpretations. Timely identification of ischemia is vital, achievable through postoperative monitoring. Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) technology, using a camera and light source to capture subcutaneous blood volume fluctuations, offers a solution. However, spatial measurement and real-time analysis remain challenging.
