Abstract
The implementation of AI into the US healthcare system is a longstanding and ongoing effort requiring the support and consideration of several stakeholders such as patients, providers, regulatory bodies, and industrial organizations. Improvements in provider attitudes, measures for FDA approval of AI products, and clinically mindful product design have made AI more accessible than ever. However, several considerable challenges remain, including medical school education, patient data safety, and design of clinical trials that utilize AI. Herein we discuss the current state and challenges of AI implementation and scalability from a multilevel perspective.
