Abstract
Technological determinism (TD) is a social philosophy which proposes that technology is an independent exogenous force that progresses unconstrained by social concerns or cultural pressures, but in turn drives development of societal structures and culture. For example, artificial intelligence (AI) is a driving force of technological determinism and has acted as a catalyst for change in society and the economy as exemplified by its effect in diverse industries like aviation, agriculture, and health. This chapter will elaborate on the clinical perspective of how AI is shaping society, medicine, and radiology.
