Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to transform medicine in upcoming decades. Among medical specialists, radiologists are leading the investigation of AI's use in medicine [1]. However, most studies in the field remain focused on demonstrating the feasibility of AI for radiological work, rather than looking ahead to the implications, financial and otherwise, of implementing AI in broader clinical practice [2]. In the near term, trends in reimbursement in medical AI may complicate its clinical implementation. However, payers and providers alike are working to change reimbursement practices to bring about the clinical improvements that AI will provide.
